Tractor Section Update

Plans are well underway for this year's event, with entry forms now flooding in.

For 2023 one of our features in the tractor section is "Haymaking Through the Years". Following the tremendous success of the "Potato" theme last year, so well embraced by all the Club Stands, we have taken the display one step further this year and plan to introduce a "Live Working Haymaking Demonstration Area" during the show, where visitors can see many different types of haymaking machinery working and how it was done years ago.

The years show Club Stands have great ideas to display static haymaking equipment to contribute to our theme.

To give a flavour of what we have coming for this year, I have listed some of the exhibits below:

Hay Mowers Manufactured by:

Bamlett

Bamford

Harris

John Deere

Massey - Harris

Mc Cormick

Mid Mounted Allis Chalmers mower on a Model B tractor

Mid Mounted John Deere mower on a Model L tractor

Hay Turners, Hay Rakes and Hay Loaders Manufactured by:

Dickie

Ferguson

Massey - Harris

Martins

Nicholson

Balers Manufactured by:

Case

John Deere

This year, our Tractor and Machinery feature covers anything made by the "Case" Company of Racine, Wisconsin, USA. The J I Case Threshing Machine Company were instrumental in developing steam and internal combustion engine tractors, plus an extensive range of associated machinery. Many Case tractors were imported pre-Second War for the British farmer, and some also came over on the War "Lease Lend Scheme" from the USA. They were a very popular tractor in their working day, and many examples you will see at the show this year have been exceptionally well restored during recent years.

So far, entries include:

1915 Model 12-25

1919 " 10-18

1927 " 12-20

1929 " L

1936 " RC Rowcrop

1938 " R

1938 " RC Styled

1939 " C

1939 " CC

Plus, a few later Case Tractors from the Classic Era of the 1980s.

Please note that tractor section entries for the 2023 section are now closed.

If you wish to enquire about the 2024 show, please visit the tractor section secretary's tent during the show.
